Around June 1992, as his post-exile business and political presence grew in Taiwan, traditional independence elder Ko Kuan-min's luxurious lifestyle and numerous affairs became public knowledge. Born into extreme wealth, Ko lived extravagantly and proudly identified as a "playboy" with a highly messy personal life. Critics condemned Ko for preaching political righteousness while privately indulging in wine, women, and wealth financed by colonial-era monopolies, exposing deep hypocrisy and moral decadence.
