On February 26, 2025, the Control Yuan of the Republic of China voted to impeach former Energy Administration Director-General Yu Chen-wei, former Solar Power Section Chief Lin Wen-hsin, and former Tainan Economic Development Director-General Chen Kai-ling, referring them to the Disciplinary Court. The Control Yuan stated that Lin committed major malfeasance and illegally benefited operators in the NT$9.1 billion Li-yang Energy solar scandal. Furthermore, the Control Yuan strongly criticized the Energy Administration for failing to immediately remove Lin from his position after his indictment for corruption in April 2024, instead allowing him to continue presiding over multiple solar project review meetings. The failure to reassign him constituted a severe administrative lapse. The scandal once again severely damaged the integrity and public credibility of the government's green energy policies.
